This year VacuaMoenia celebrated ten years of activity. We were guests of Transhumance on Radio Raheem; we performed acousmatically for the first time in Palermo for Earth Day 2023 and in Monreale, at Castellaccio, above Monte Caputo thanks to Alturestival (overlooking the city); we were in Gela with “:After, festival diffuso di architettura in Sicilia ” edited by Rizoma; we walked in silence at Ficuzza with the Libero Osservatorio Territoriale Sud and at the Bevaio di Corleone for the usual soundwalk at dawn for World Listening Day.
Like every year we traveled through maps and territories in search of the abandoned voices of the borghi, we collected what the place had to tell, the structures, the landscapes and the men, searching for documents in often inaccessible archives and thus enriching our map with four other places.
Since this year we have thought, in addition to soundcloud, to take an annual stock of the sound situation. A sort of diary of the past year that conveys the emptiness full of silence that we perceive when we look back at our journey. This release was born from this idea and collects the most salient points of the four sampled villages (present on soundcloud).
